Karkrub Story

It was a super hot day at the Intercontinental Hua Hin hotel in Thailand. A young boy named Kai was walking along the sunny path with his dad. Kai was a really curious boy, always wanting to know more about the world. He was especially interested in cars because his uncle, who loved old cars, had taught him lots about these vehicles.

Every week, Kai would have a video call with his uncle. They would talk about different cars, from their engines to their histories. Sometimes, his uncle would tell him funny stories related to cars. These stories would make Kai laugh so much that his belly hurt. All this made the weekly calls the best part of Kai’s week.

Kai and his dad were on holiday in Thailand. The country was famous for its spicy food, kind people, and the lovely places to visit. There were so many beautiful things to see, from tall mountains to beautiful beaches. But of all these things, one particular sight took Kai’s breath away – a vintage 1966 Mercedes 200D Fintail car.

The car was parked under a big palm tree near the beach. The old but beautiful car looked so shiny under the hot sun. It was like a treasure waiting to be discovered. Seeing it, Kai felt like he had found a hidden gem.

“Dad! Dad! Look!” Kai shouted with a big smile on his face. His excitement was so high that he kept pulling his dad’s shirt. His heart was beating fast with joy. He felt like he had spotted a real superstar.

His dad laughed and took out his phone. He was ready to take a photo of this wonderful moment. “Stay still, kiddo,” he teased Kai. Both of them were so happy. Their laughter filled the air, making the sunny day feel even warmer.

Not paying attention to his dad’s teasing, Kai started to talk fast about the car. He had learned a lot from his uncle. “It’s got a big 2.0-liter engine,” Kai said. “And those fin-like things on the back, uncle calls them ‘Fintails’. They help the car move smoothly in the air. Uncle would be really surprised to see this!”

Kai couldn’t stop talking about the car. His eyes were shining, and he was jumping up and down with excitement. His dad was both amused and proud. He took more photos of Kai and the car. “We’ll show these to your uncle, okay?” he promised. “You did well, Kai. Your uncle would be proud.”

After seeing the Fintail, Kai decided to do something special to remember this day. He wanted to make it a day that he would never forget. So, he acted like his uncle. He pretended to make car sounds. He even acted out a car chase scene with the Fintail as the hero.

Then, Kai decided to tell a funny joke about cars. His dad and some people walking by listened and laughed. “Do you know why the car tried to get a job?” Kai asked, pretending to be serious. His dad played along and shook his head. Kai continued with a cheeky smile. “Because it wanted to earn its own fuel instead of eating up all the gas!”

Everyone laughed at his joke. Their laughter echoed on the beach, making everyone feel happy. Even as the sun began to set, their laughter didn’t stop. The sky turned from bright blue to a mix of orange and purple.

The spotting of the car, the funny act, and their shared love for cars made this day unforgettable for Kai. He felt like this was the best day ever. Hand in hand, they walked back to their room. Behind them, the 1966 Mercedes 200D Fintail was a silent reminder of the bond they shared and the special day they spent together. Even when they were far away, Kai knew he would always remember this day and the joy he felt.
